The wedi Subliner Dry System includes Subliner Dry Sheet Membrane, Sealing Tape, Prefabricated Outside and Inside Corner Tapes as well as various Sealing Collars to waterproof entire structures in especially shower and steam room construction. wedi Subliner Dry is well suited for sealing measures over preexisting wall or floor underlayment including drywall. Use Subliner Dry in combination with ceramic tiles, slabs, and natural cast tiles for indoor wall and floor areas. Especially strong performance in steam showers / rooms due to its unique Vapor Resistance rating of 0.09 WVTR/Perms as tested using ASTM E96, method E. The Subliner Dry is a strong membrane yet very pliable. Installation steps and measuring and cutting gridlines are printed on its surface for fast working.
Step 1Lay out wedi Subliner Dry and cut by using a carpet cutter or scissors.
Step 2Apply wedi thin-bed mortar to the prepared subfloor using a 1/8" x 1/" or 1/4" x 1/4" notch trowel.
Step 3Insert wedi Subliner Dry with the printed side facing upward and press on with a rubber roller or wooden float
Step 4The sheets must overlap 2" at joints/transistions. Apply a bed of thinset mortar with the flat side of the trowel onto the lower mat joint connection area and press flat.
Step 5Press on the overlapping area with a trowel or rubber roller. Remove any escaping mortar and air pockets. Cross joints should be avoided.
Step 6Apply a continious 1/2" bead of wedi Joint Sealant along all seams and spread flat with a putty knife over the joints.
Step 7Start setting tile once the thinset mortar under Subliner Dry has sufficiently cured.
