At the initial "Architects Darling Awards", in the region of 2,000 planners voted the products and services offered by the Emsdetten-based company into the top positions: one 3rd place finish and two 2nd place finishes for wedi!
With which products do German architects most prefer to build in the various construction disciplines? Which suppliers do they regard as being most proficient in disciplines such as accessibility, energy efficiency, design, sustainability and innovation? These are questions which interest the building materials industry as much as installers and clients. The marketing research company, Heinze Marktforschung based in Celle, posed these question independently and on everyone's behalf. In 2011, the company carried out the largest industry survey of this kind for the first time together with architectural magazines and websites such as baunetz.de and sponsored the new "Architects Darling Awards". A total of 200 brands and manufacturers from the construction industry put themselves forward for the planners' vote. In the region of 2,000 architects took part in the survey and evaluated the neutrally introduced candidates. At the very top of the favourites list of the architects were wedi's products and services – and that in a total of three different areas.
Top when it comes to accessibility, dry construction and sanitary technology
In the discipline "accessibility", 128 manufacturers of building products were on the list to be evaluated – and the "jury" voted wedi GmbH into 2nd place in this category. In the category "dry construction", the products of the Emsdetten-based company received the bronze medal. With a further 2nd place in the category "sanitary technology", the "Architects’ Darling" medals' table for 2011 was added to with a further important award. These are already the second round of awards that wedi has received this year: the innovation prize 2011 which is awarded by the trade association "Fliesen und Naturstein" [tiles and natural stone] already went to the wedi building board Premium. The good results achieved in such independent competitions is confirmation, but even greater motivation, to continue to optimise wedi's products and services – in order to achieve even better results in the "Architects Darling" survey 2012.
